Terence Calnan– PSC Founder and Principal
Terence is Program/Project Management Practitioner and
expert in management frameworks, processes & systems
for projectized business and government environments. He
has worked with world-class organizations in Europe and
the Americas for over 30 years, across Aerospace/Defense,
Energy, Information/Communication Technologies, Transportation,
Pharmaceutical and Service industries. Many of these activities
have been with Government entities and international Agencies.
He has led multi-disciplinary teams – often assembled
from a mix of Client and Third Party resources – to
deliver agreed results that improve business and project
performance.
Terence founded Project Solutions Corporation in Houston
in 1979 and built it up to a complement of 40 professional
staff by 1990, developing its business model from a services-
and turnkey-based Solution Provider to its current operations
as an international Virtual Team of world-class experts.
Under Terence’s leadership PSC:
-
developed the ‘MAX’
program/project management methodology and the highly
successful MAX Project Management Software Applications
for ARTEMIS. MAX underpinned large-scale program/project
management solutions that PSC implemented with major corporations
in Energy, Aerospace/Defense, Pharmaceutical, Transportation
& Services sectors, as well as with NASA, the European
Space Agency and various US Navy, Army and Air Force programs.
-
established PSC Europe in 1985,
and carried our successful methodologies and solutions
from the USA forward to such organizations as BP International
and – pivotally – the European Space Agency
(ESA)
-
established PSC Malta in 1990.
Provided consulting services to the Office of the Prime
Minister, the Management Systems Unit, Malta Development
Corporation, IPSE, MIDI and Farsons
-
established a successful Product
Partnership with IBM’s Warwick Lab (UK) to develop
our next generation product, Impact 2000. However, when
the relationship with IBM’s Field Sales force failed
to deliver, we exited this business, licensing Impact
2000 to IBM Switzerland and Dow Chemicals.
-
co-founded Semtec PSC AG based
in Bern-CH in 1994, and shifted personal residence to
Europe. This firm provided services to the Swiss Ministries
of Defense, Transport and Health, as well as to ESA and
CERN.
Terence graduated as a Chemical Engineer (University College
London, 1970) and worked as a Project Controls Engineer,
rising to management positions both with Foster Wheeler
and Ralph M. Parsons before founding PSC in Houston in 1979.
