- is a specialist business management group offering
a range of high-level business services to the biomedical
sector. The core competence of the group is the effective
development and commercial exploitation of business opportunities
arising from novel Bioscience, Veterinary and Medical technology.
BMBP developed an approach, driven by the industry value
chain, which involves progressing business position based
on intellectual property (patents) so that the returns from
a commercial opportunity might be optimized.
BMBP is led by Dr Trevor Langley PhD, FCMI who has extensive
experience of the Life Science industries gained through
Executive Board positions in a variety of companies offering
products and services. His early industrial experience was
gained at Whatman Biochemicals Ltd where, after a spell
in research, he undertook a number of management positions
before becoming Managing Director. Following this, he set
up Imperial Biotechnology Ltd with venture capital backing
and finance from the City of London. After the sale of the
company in 1989, he joined Huntington Life Sciences as Marketing
& Sales Director, a role he held till 1995.
In 2002, he formed BMBP to expand the concept of applying
much needed commercial skills to the process of spinning
out innovative technology. A number of successful companies
have been formed under BMBP guidance in partnership with
some of the UK’s leading universities. BMBP has worked
with the PSC Team on a number of Biotechnology start-up
ventures, focused on Malta-based opportunities.
